How long does shipping take?

We do our best to process each order within 1-3 business days. From there, please allow 1-3 weeks for your order to arrive, depending on where you live. Tracking information will be provided once your order ships.

What size should I order?

Please measure around your dog's head before ordering — over the top of the head just in front of the ears, and under the chin. The tape should sit snug but not tight, with room to slide one finger underneath. The Calm Hood is available in S–L, and measurements are shown in inches and cm.

Measurements may vary slightly due to manual measurement (approx. 1/2 inch). Head size is the most accurate guide — use weight as a backup. If you're between sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size; the chin strap lets you snug it in. For toy breeds under 7.5kg (17 lb), please check that the head measures at least 10" (25cm) first.

How do I measure my dog for the right size?

A good fit is what makes the Calm Hood comfortable enough to keep on, so it's worth taking a minute to measure before you order.

Here's how to get the right fit:

Use a soft tape measure: Wrap it around your dog's head — over the top, just in front of the ears, and under the chin. That's the same path the hood will follow. (No tape measure? A piece of string works too — just measure it against a ruler afterward.)

Keep it snug, not tight: The tape should sit flat against the fur without pressing in. You should be able to slide one finger underneath.

Check it against our size chart: Find where your dog's measurement falls. If it's right between two sizes, choose the larger one — the adjustable chin strap lets you fine-tune the fit.

How do I help my dog get used to wearing it?

Most dogs settle in quickly, but a little practice before the big night makes all the difference. The goal is for the hood to feel familiar and cozy — not like something new on a scary night.

Start on a calm day: Let your dog sniff the hood first, and reward them for showing interest.

Keep the first try short: Put it on for a minute or two, give a treat and lots of praise, then take it off.

Build up gradually: Over the next few days, leave it on a little longer during things your dog already enjoys — mealtime, cuddles on the couch, a favorite chew.

Put it on before the noise starts: On fireworks night, slip it on early in the evening, so it's part of a calm routine rather than something that happens in the middle of the chaos.
